Four surfaces. Different lives. We’ll help you pick the one that matches how you actually cook, not a magazine photo.
Granite
Natural, heat-tough, and never the same twice. It’s the workhorse in East Texas kitchens and one of the few that can live outdoors. You’ll seal it about once a year. We walk the yard so you pick the actual slab — the speckles, the movement, the piece that belongs on your cabinets.
Quartz
Engineered, consistent, no sealing. Easy to wipe down. Great for busy kitchens and baths. It does not like a hot pan parked on it, and it does not belong in the East Texas sun — UV can fade it. If you want a specific look and zero drama, this is usually the one.
Quartzite
Natural stone with marble’s drama and granite’s backbone. Harder than granite. Veining can run like a painting. It needs sealing. This is the showpiece when you want people to stop in the doorway — like the Black Diamond island we set in Jacksonville.
Marble
Soft light, quiet luxury. Acids will mark it — lemon, wine, tomato. Beautiful on a vanity or a pastry station. We also restore tired marble so you don’t always have to replace it. If you want a kitchen workhorse, we’ll probably steer you elsewhere, honestly.
How we help you choose
We come to the house first so color is chosen in your light, against your cabinets. Then we walk the Whitehouse yard until the slab feels like yours. Stay as long as you need. No four-inch sample and a shrug.
